The University of Évora is one of the universities in the Portuguese public higher education system and, therefore, its mission is to:

The production of knowledge through scientific and artistic research, experimentation and technological and humanistic development;
The socialization of knowledge, providing the traditional student population, as well as the working population, with academic qualifications through undergraduate, master''s and doctoral courses, ad hoc training courses and informal lifelong training;
The transmission of knowledge to the community with a view to innovation and business competitiveness, as well as the modernization of public services and the social and cultural development of the community as a whole.

The University of Évora views itself in relation to the region in which it is located, the Alentejo, choosing it as the preferential target of its efforts to socialize knowledge, to community Europe with which it shares identical human, cultural and scientific values, to neighboring regions with which it will prioritize strategic partnerships, and to the Portuguese-speaking countries to which it will seek to extend its mission, not forgetting, at the same time, that the preparation of students must always take into account the global “world” in which we live today.

The University of Beira Interior (UBI) is a public higher education institution in Portugal, in Covilhã. Recognized for offering a variety of high-quality courses that prepare students for the job market, in 2021 it had around 8,600 students enrolled in the various courses on its training offer.

The offer covers academic degrees from bachelor''s degrees to master''s degrees, doctorates, postgraduate degrees covering areas such as medicine and biomedical sciences to design, fashion, including the course with the highest employability rates, computer engineering, or innovative courses such as aeronautical engineering.

UBI has five faculties: Sciences, Engineering, Social and Human Sciences, Arts and Letters, and Health Sciences. Research activities are reinforced by several national and international research projects, funded by national and international programs and public entities and private. Structurally, UBI has an innovation and development office - UBInnovative - responsible for the administrative and financial support and management of R&D projects and results. Furthermore, it is also responsible for supporting the search for financing and the implementation and implementation of developed technologies as well as their legal protection. 

It encompasses 18 research units from different areas of knowledge in alignment with European, national and regional priorities and the sustainable development objectives of the UN – United Nations. The UBIMedical/UBIExecutive innovation and technology incubator/accelerator enhances communication between academia and the market. UBI''s quality in teaching, research and innovation has been recognized by its presence in U-Multirank, in the Top 200 of THE Young University Ranking, and at level 601-800 in THE''s World Universities Ranking
